Gary Christensen is currently the President and CEO of Calson Properties and has been in this position since 2016. He oversees the real estate holdings of the Lindsay family, with the majority of their holdings within the San Francisco South Bay area. Calson Properties opened its door for business on February 4, 1948, and Mr. Christensen proudly continues to carry on the vision of the original founders of hard work and ethical business dealings.

Prior to his time with Calson Properties, Mr. Christensen owned and operated Pacific Commercial Management, which specialized in the asset management of real estate in the Western United States. He founded the company to provide investors and clients the benefit of his extensive experience and knowledge of real estate and its management. Before he formed PCM, Mr. Christensen was Senior Vice President of a San Francisco based boutique real estate investment company with holdings primarily in the southern and western United States that was valued near 750 million dollars. Over the years, Mr. Christensen has been involved in many aspects of real estate asset management, including acquisition, due diligence, formation of partnership vehicles, loan financing, construction management, investor relations and the strategic positioning of properties to achieve maximum asset value. He also oversaw the operations of third-party leasing and management companies and has negotiated and executed thousands of leases on behalf of various ownerships.

In his 30 years of professional experience, Mr. Christensen has contributed greatly to the profitability of a variety of property types. These include retail, office, industrial and multi-family residential. His handling of commercial buildings with both single- and multi-tenant users has made him adept at dealing with the requirements of both. His “hands-on approach” includes personally visiting each property and establishing rapport with each major tenant. He has been very successful in maintaining relationships between principals, tenants, architects, building contractors and city building and zoning officials. In representing various ownerships, he has negotiated lease transactions with national tenants, including MetLife, GE Government Systems, Time/Warner, General Dynamics, Finisar, State of California, Cable Data Computer Systems, Ampex, Polo, United Stationers, Blockbuster, Hoya Electronics, Tuesday Morning, Payless, Restaurants Unlimited, Super Save Drug, and Albertson’s, just to name a few.
 

Mr. Christensen has been awarded the Certified Property Manager (“CPM”) designation by the Institute of Real Estate Management, a Certified Commercial Investment Manager (“CCIM”) and a designation within the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (“SIOR”). He has been actively involved with the Institute of Real Estate Management (“IREM”) for over 35 years, including 2 years on the National IREM council and twice as the President of the Southern Colorado local IREM Chapter. In both those years, the Southern Colorado Chapter 53 received national merit awards for outstanding performance. Mr. Christensen is a licensed real estate broker in both Colorado and California.
